Unfortunately, Iraq is a training camp for 'how to wage assymetric warfare on the cheap against the world's superpower.'

Even the military keeps saying that the insurgents and jihadists are becoming ever more sophisticated graduating from coke cans to shaped charges.

One good result would be the dismantling of huge standing armies because, what the heck is anyone going to do with them anyway? I have a suspicion that this is somewhat similar to Rummy's thinking although I think Rummy's motivation is to privatize everything and pocket the change.

His problem in Iraq is that he's not fighting a war but trying to police an occupation. It just blows.
