I don't know whether you like the Classics... many of those films I recommended are such. However, if you have not seen Chaplin get City Lights and Limelight.. He was just a wonderful comedian..

Also, want to say that many of the more recent films that a lot of you have posted are ones that I have liked also.

Shawshank Redemption was great... Many more but they all run together today with those I mentioned being in my OLD memory bank.

Remember, when I saw films they were a quarter admission and is was a Saturday afternoon event.(:)

Took a film course in college and Griffith(I may have spelled his name incorrectly) was one of the earliest film makers.. The course started from the first films made.. which of course were all silent and in black and white.

Watched Cold Blood again last night in black and white. That's a film that does best in that but prefer color.....
Gentleman's Agreement was also in black and white as I recall.

Ingrid Bergman was one of my favorite actresses and she is in two of the films I mentioned..

Great idea E... Look at the responses you got...

There are just too many good films out there. Maybe you could categorize them into foreign and not foreign.

Glad you are on the mend...
