did you read the book? the reviews are mixed, but decisive - they either loved it, hated it, bought it or flat out called him the writer james frey modeled himself after the emperor/naked syndrome is very prominent in art there was a "new artist" show, sponsored by art gallery owners at chicago's navy pier a few years back - it was laughable I went with a art history major, so it just wasn't from my uneducated point of view then suddenly we both spotted a really good looking painting and looked at each other in amazement - a truly good piece at that show? we zoomed over to it and really began to laugh - it was a painting by Miro - the only piece or art there the price tags were insulting - I can't imagine any idiot paying a penny for the works there and it was a massive exhibit one booth had works of cutting pornograhics pictures and pasting them haphazard to canvas and then over writing on them another was a small TV, with a woman speaking - say you are shit, I am shit, we are shit, the world is shit, everything is shit and on and on - we really cracked up over that one
