General Motors? The company is still promoting gas guzzlers like Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Suburban etc. by subsidizing gas purchases over $ 1.99/gallon. Just amazing. And those buyers of those cars don't care: "I can afford that". Wait until there is a rationing like 3 decades ago: limit 8 gallons per car, or odd even. That's the only way to conserve.
The future cars of GM and Ford: E85, yup, 85% ethanol. Where are the gas stations that sell E85? Only a very few in the Midwest, and of course, even lower gas mileage. Who is going to buy those cars? Possibly the government, mandated by a Vice President in office.
Has any of the successful car manufacturer even consider E85? Nope. Not Toyota nor Honda.
GM solution: get Renault to help. Remember Le Car that was imported a few decades ago? The first break down is Le Brakes, and then Le Transmission, and then Le Engine, and Le Bumper, and Le Body. That's why is was called Le Car. It was Le Lemon. |
