The blending of Victorian English with obscene language is very fascinating to me. The "bonus dvd" in the first season set speaks to this and makes a pretty good case for the idea that this is much closer to the authentic than classic Westerns would portray.

The population of the camp/town of Deadwood in 1877 was 90% male. Remembering my time on Submarines, I can pretty well see how the language might be much like it's portrayed in the series. :-)

Oh, and being that I have small children running around the house, I spent most of my viewing time with headphones on. ;-)
