Zarqawi wasn't in Al Qaeda until Feb 2004 when he applied for financial help from Bin Laden. That is interesting. Powell says Zaraqawi was operating in Ansar Al Islam in Northern Iraq, in the Kurdish area. Hussein had him up their keeping his troublesome Kurds in line.
