Just thought this board might appreciate an additional data point suggesting that Macs are expanding their audience. I'm a longtime Windows user, but I picked up a Macbook recently. I wouldn't call myself a switcher per se, since I run Windows on it at least half the time (via BootCamp). But I do think that with the MacBook, there are a number of factors that have made the Wintel world consider a Mac, which they hadn't before.

1) It's priced competitively. You can't really get a Core Duo laptop for any cheaper than the MacBook, with a similar feature set. The Sony Vaio SZ is probably the most comparable laptop in the PC world and to spec it out exactly like the low-end Macbook (hardware-wise), it comes out to $1550 (although the SZ weighs a full pound less and comes with both PCMCIA and ExpressCard slots).

2) The Intel switch makes it possible to make direct comparisons with PCs and see the value pricing.

3) Bootcamp. I never would have considered a Mac without the option of running Windows on it, full time.

4) Vista delay. As it was, there was a temptation to wait to buy a machine with Vista pre-installed, but alas...
