Andy, you are probably right about MM's and their daily inventory at the end of the day. But in the case of LGND I don't think this applies because of the following:
1. Most news from companies is kept underwraps until disclosure because of legal ramifications. In the case of LGND this is certain not the case for those that have any modicum of contact with the biotech industry. The Un.of Texas Medical Center here in Houston and other major medical facilities all over the world are issuing papers on the research going on with LIGAND compounds and they are all positive. Example the NATURE article just a few months ago. The Panretin results are just another example. Five(5) of the major brokerage houses all have screaming BUY rec's on LGND. James Cramer and his street.com site and their recent article on LGND and diabetes. The CEO of LGND in two recent conferences reports that a deal is imminent and I could go on and on. You would have to believe that the MM's in LGND have to know about the potential of LGND and would certainly have their inventories in mind so that they can profit from the release of good news.
