Now that IS funny! Have heard the same punch lines from Mrs Patch and my Dad.

Good 19th (or early 20th) Century period frames aren't easy to find. And you're right. If you're not careful, they can set you back serious money. Good 19th Century hard wood frames have almost doubled, around here, in the past 4 or 5 yrs!

Been trying to find a suitable frame for a David Cox Sr oil on board landscape, for months. Some good examples of his work in this museum list:

Ours is a great little painting. But, hate the odd size dimensions.
