he Sudanese offered Clinton Osama on a Silver Platter ...

Clinton did not need a "New Pearl Harbor" to push his agenda and Osama had not yet committed any crimes against the U.S.

Clinton brought us peace and prosperity so who am I to begrudge him a pursuit of happiness. Cheney was getting desparate to move his neocon plans forward before his ticker gave out and peak oil was obviouos. That's why that whole "right wing consiracy" kept trumping up baseless accusations.

We were savagedly attacked - because Cheney wanted a "galvanizing event" similar to Pearl Harbor so that the american public would rally around his plan to conquer the oil fields in time for the oil peak. Al Qaeda tried to bomb or blowup something every year or two. All Cheney and the neocons had to do was wait for the next of Al Qaeda's attempts and then do nothing to stop it!

Cheney got his event alright! He immidiately went to work on an invasion of oil-rich countries that weren't involved, even before Bush Jr. had finished cleaning his pants from his terrified fly-away around the hinderlands.

Had Gore's election not been nullified there probably wouldn't have been a 9/11 for you to get yourself worked up about. All those billions spent would have been invested in alternative non-globally warming energy.
