I have had the opposite experience. Never having been on pot, I used to dance around to music by the Jefferson Airplane, a band who were admittedly "psychedelic." Quite inspired by the power of their vision and quite content with the dry transfer of it to an undisturbed filter. I had also read Carlos Castaneda and Aldous Huxely when I was very young, and thought at the time that their weltschmertz observations under the influence which so disturbed them and of which they could not reconcile and thus stop their depressed visions, (which were tangential and momentally forcefully so) were interestingly in logical error which I thought could be refuted and the tangentia stopped by force of interferential logic, and that that the logic, if cynically-personally applied to people under schizoid experience could break them free of their obsession or "hallucinatory misguidance." I had experimented over many years with people who had drug induced delusions and experiences underway and former and other people who exhibited similar symptoms naturally derived and found that their attempted self-affirmation could revive the elemental spirit much like music could, and similar jarring induced or otherwise experience which, outside the realm of the ordinary social discourse and "out of joint" could also temporarily interfere with states of transfixion that afflict the mildly or even wildly deranged. Emotion, transference, and the fixation on the immediate, beyond the scale of the internal delusion could focus the mind and break free of the fear and imagining that led astray. Of course, long term, the chemistry of the brain of schizophrenics can not at present be dealt with except by symptom reducing sedative type drugs. It must therefore be attacked at a chemical enzymatic and perhaps bacterial level to effect a real specific treatment. I am convinced that schizophrenics suffer from an hereditary auto-immune or bacterial illness that like Alzeheimers degrades the organizational physical-chemical structure of the brain over time. The similar Reyes syndrome lends credence to this theory. Shcizophrenics have unique blood chemistry that inhibits certain cancers. They also have a brain that over time lose its folds. It points to an elemental body-driven change. The usual culprits are the immune system and bacteria which can remain undetected abnormalities for decades and their existence elude medical science quite adroitly. In addition these elements of disease vectors are often hereditary susepetibilities. And we see schizophrenia and many mental diseases to have that component. EC<:-}
