"Microsoft and Intel plays fiddle and Compaq dances, so whether
Compaq feels there's a market for these NetPC devices is irrelevant," said the Yankee Group's Murphy.

The NCR Thin Client Program for the Enterprise leverages agreements NCR struck with Boundless Technologies to license its thin client devices as well as software licensing agreements with Citrix Systems and Network Computing Devices.

The company will use Citrix's WinFrame thin client/server software and provide support for Citrix's ICA thin client/server protocol. Dayton, Ohio-based NCR also licensed NCD's WinCenter to allow dumb terminals to perform terminal emulation and access applications running on multiple OS platforms from a single terminal.
