We aren't catching flak in Afghanistan because the Sunnis aren't killing the Shiites. There aren't that many in Afghanistan to begin with. 80 or 90% of the population is Sunni, which is the home team for the Taliban and Al Quaeda.
In Iraq, Al Queda is a euphemism for Sunni resistance. All the Sunnis used to be called Baathists in the Saddam days, along with the Sunni terrorists in Syria. Now, the only allies that the Syrians have is President Numbnutsanjani in Iran, who is a friggin Shiite. Since the Iranians would have to cross over Iraq to defend Syria, I find the threat of Iran defending Syria to be limited.
I see more and more upside to having a divided ME. It creates a balance of power to divide each warring faction of bloodthirsy Arabs, Persians, Kurds, Sunnis, Shiites, Baathists, and the tiny little strip of land called Israel. 800 million Sunnis and 200 million Shiites vs. 6 million Jews in Israel. There's not a lick of oil coming out of Israel or Lebanon, and we are supposed to believe the whole balance of power is in jeopardy because the Hezbelloh are kidnapping Israeli soldiers.
Thanks for your input about the Shiites in Lebanon not supporting Hezbelloh 100%. I can't believe the government was letting Hezbelloh send out drone planes from their soil to attack Israeli ships.
