u.s. war ships have anti missile defense on board. ability to knock out incoming missiles? They have several layers of defense. Probably the best one is the close-in 20MM Electric Gatling Gun. It's radar and computer controlled for automatic fire at anything getting close. Puts out a hose of steel.
