I once had 6000 @ $3.05 average. I've taken profits along the way so I don't have that many left. I almost sold them when it dropped under $2 but I convinced myself that the company was great - just the market didn't know it yet.

I sympathize with your friend - I came very close to doing the same. It would have been like finding out you tore up a winning lottery ticket...
