A buddy who used to have family working in the Detroit auto industry used to always use the "That environmental high-mileage stuff is just too hard and expensive" argument, when I'd ask why GM and Ford couldn't come out with higher mileage vehicles. He saw "An Inconvenient Truth" a couple weeks ago, and now just has no comment... By the way, I see GM has come up with a way to manufacture cars that meet China's requirements.. There but not here. Isn't THAT interesting....
