In general, I agree. But I think this issue goes beyond Lebanon. This is between Israel and Syria, and possibly Iran. Lebanon just has the misfortune to have been Syria's cat paw in this.

I personally don't think this is wise. My impression is that both Syria and Iran think that the hand of the US is pinned and without US backing, Israel can be taken. I think they are wrong in that, Israel has a history of being able to defend against bigger forces than Iran or Syria can throw at them.
