I think it's intuitively obvious that some (I would say many) so-called liberals are authoritarians There is no doubt overlap. There is no doubt there are some that identify themselves as one way, but are really the way they are only because of pressure from spouses or the community they live in. The big difference is that true liberals are against the death penalty and do not believe in the use of force to solve problems. If that is your weltanschauung, your views on life takes on a different perspective and you necessarily have to see things differently.
