They haven't. And there's no pretext, I don't think. They don't consider themselves to be at war with Lebanon. Didn't you hear the UN ambassador?

I find nothing remotely comparable in your example. A closer example, I think, is the US going after AQ in Afghanistan.

If there were terrorists groups in Mexico sponsored by, say, Cuba and Venezuela, they had been crossing into the US for a couple of decades and blowing people up, and the Mexican government either couldn't or wouldn't do anything about them, no, I don't think it's uncivilized for the US to shell their routes and hideouts and supply lines.
