| Saturday, my wife and I attended a party thrown by my nephew for his son who joined the Army and leaves for Boot camp on Tuesday. It was a big affair at a ballroom, with many guests. My grand nephew graduated high in his class, was editor of the school newspaper, vice president of Key Club, and so you dont think he is a nerd, earned 1st degree black belt in Judo. Among others the class Validictorian spoke, he is going to M.I.T. and said were in not for my grand nephew he never would have gotten in as he helped him so much in his studies. He has "bright Futures" scholarship, plus his college paid in advance so it wasnt a money thing. When my grand nephew spoke to give his reason, he said, "Many of you have asked why I chose to go in the Army rather then College after H.S., I never told you why, now I am going to, its because I believe what we are doing is WORTH FIGHTING FOR. Thank God, America still has young men of this calibre available to defend us. jdn |
