Wise words, Gulo. Indeed, it seems that far too many people see this issue as a black/white one and are happy with escalating the violence and hatred. Before righteously blaming one party for allowing violence to occur, in this case the Lebanese government, we should remember some other people who have allowed violence to occur. Take as an example, that in 1982 a Lebanese Christian militia allied with the Israelis and supported by them with money and weapons, massacred, according to Red Cross reports, 2400 Palestinians in two refugee camps, while Ariel Sharon, former PM of Israel and military commander at the time, stood by right beside the camp with his troops sealing off the escape exits, and did nothing?

Now Lebanon is being pounded to rubble as a result of some sort of self-righteous outrage that two soldiers were kidnapped? Can any reasonable person justify this? And speaking once again of appeasement, who got away with partial responsibility for a horrendous massacre to the extent of even becoming a prime minister afterwards?
