The thing is, Lebanon as a country is not attacking Israel, nor is it capable of stopping the attacks. To punish Lebanese and Palestinians in general for the acts of extremists is wrong, derives from a simplistic, racist mindset, and is just perpetuating the extremism and attacks by creating the hatred that it lives and breeds on. With all that has happened in the last sixty years, when there are no attacks on Israel, pigs will be flying in the sky, regardless of who is in power in its neighbouring countries. The best we can have is Israel deal with moderates in an honourable fashion, give their enemies a reason to live in peace and dignity rather than self-destruct, and wait it out for the extremists to totally discredit themselves and die out. Instead Israel is abandoning the high moral ground, as are Canada and the US for supporting them when they are choosing the low ground.
