In Memoriam Of Silicon Investor:
It seems that we have entered the age of corporate sponsorship at SI. I don't wish to name a particular stock(s), but it seems that SI has beome enough of a 'site' that corporations are willing to sponsor people or 'characters' to overwhelm more reasoned posters. If one views the # of post to the # of 'hits' on a site, you can see that there are a large % of people who lurk and try to find worthwhile info out of various post and links. You can ,also, find dramatic increases of new posters nearly overnite on some threads. Simple psychology will tell you that if you find enough refutations of 'meat' post that people will be wary of a well considered position. Flock mentality will rule. 'He thinks this' but there are so many post that disagree with him - 'where there is smoke there is fire'.
Now, with advertising budgets being what they are, just pay for enough people or logins to generate volume and drown out posters who seem to have valid arguments aginst your position. SI is now a marketing tool.
Just lately, we have seen attempts to sue and persecute people who oppose certain interests. These have seemed to lend weight to the persecuted parties. Even later, I seem to see the attempt to drown the serious people in BS so that they no longer post contrary opinions. We are now to the point where the only serious discorse is via email. We have been censored and there is no recourse. The sheep have been returned to the pen where they can get no useful info unless they know someone that they can trust.

PS. I know that I am am full of it. I realize that this isn't happening. Yes, I realize that I post useless drivel while reading info from more capable posters. Still... I check profiles and see how long someone has been posting. Opinions are only my own and accidently were posted on Taxi's thread. I promise not to try 'serious' again.
