Israel started it on both fronts, unquestionably. Israel kidnapped two Palestinian civilians in Gaza on June 24, which led the Palestinians to kidnap an Israeli soldier. haaretz.com On May 26, Israel assassinated a senior Jihad member, Mahmoud al-Majzub, in Lebanon. This led Hezbollah to kidnap two Israeli soldiers. antiwar.com Israel did not withdraw from Lebanon. They are still occupying the Shebaa Farms area.
