I just heard Daniel Schorr on NPR opine "that it seems that Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon and Gaza were taken by the Islamists as signs, not of peace, but of weakness."

What was the range of opinions on those moves at the time, Mr. Schorr? And what was your opinion?
