Wharfy ..

I just had a 'brain fart'<gg>

Do a 'google' on 'orphaned' or 'abandoned wells'
These will include water/oil/gas wells

The state of PA has some 250,000 ( they think )
orphaned wells .. TX has over 90,000 ..

I realize that some of the O&G wells are/would be
considered as an environmental hazard and as such
there are funds for 'remediation' ie plugging these
old wells ......... But .... here's my thought ...

Why can't some of these orphaned wells be utilized as part of
a GSHP ( ground source heat pump ) resource ?????
If you check GSHP systems, the most efficient involve
the use of vertical loops in a well ...... so why not
utilize these orphaned wells for these systems ??????

Triff ..
