Why would people want to wipe out people who are Jewish whether in the past or the present century?

To elaborate my point, why couldn't Ed Sharansky think that he is a Russian first and a Jewish next. Instead he thinks he is Jewish first and everything else after that. I had friends growing up who thought they were Jewish first and hence citizens of Israel first and then as citizens of the country they were born in and the culture in which they were raised.

The sentiments that we see against the Jewish nation has some history here in my opinion. It is similar to the sentiments we see against the Mexicans when it comes to illegal immigration.

I am not saying that it is right or wrong. Only that I am trying to put it in the right context. Your post tells me that the Jewish are paranoid.
