It is illegal under international law but both the U.S. and Israel have blatantly ignored international law including even the Geneva convention for years. I was initially for the trials in The Hague of war criminals from ex-Yugoslavia but consider them now a farce as the same yardstick isn't used when the culprits are from the U.S. or Israel.
