The underlying cause is the Islamic majority wants Israel
gone. The US and the UN have given millions to the Palestinians with no progress. When Israel gives back land in Gaza, the Palestinians elect a terrorist organization.

Jimmy Carter was the first to fund Bin Laden in Afganistan.
His policies in Afganistan are a big reason for our problems today. Iran's problems probably would have happened anyway,
but they were under his watch. Carter's Camp David accord
gave money to Arafat's group, which was used for Arafat's personal use and put the chance of any resolution on hold.

Clinton was better than Carter by far. However he missed catching Bin Laden when given easy opportunities.

Bush was the first president to suggest there be a viable Palestinian state. He has captured and killed terrorists,
that Carter funded, and that Clinton missed. Bush was able remove the Taliban government that Carter funded, and Clinton
missed. Bush got rid of Saddam Hussain, and in turn got
Libya to give up their weapons programs. Bush stopped the Pakistani nuclear weapons advisor who Clinton was not aware of.
