Losing a few dozen men does not "weaken" an army. Israel's objective appears to be to bomb the Lebanese into becoming an ally. This, of course, is doomed to failure. Human response to being bombed is always anger at those who drop the bombs. Israel is basically painting itself into a corner. Eventually they are going to have to fish or cut bait. My guess is that they cut bait. -- Carl
