Lebanon is just as much a western type nation as Israel. I know they are democratic but their inablity to deal with an armed militia stronger than their own military in some regards is really what will do them in. These same shiaa militias will be running iraq or at least 1/3 of it shortly as well. There is a dual threat coming at the west from the islamic world--radical sunni a la bin laden with its strength in south asia and saudi arabia and the shia arc inclding iran, non-shiaa syria, iraq, lebanon, non-shiaa hamas. Its not a pretty picture. Can you do a sino-soviet split on these guys and deal with one? Do you have to fight and win a WW2 no holds barred war with them either thru proxies like israel or directly as in iraq and afganistan? Worlds has just gotten harder and this admin is out of its league.
