larry... here are answers to a couple of your q's... 1. i don't believe there are any similar restrictions with GIFI. 2. competitors: biz.yahoo.com 3. UFAB is restricted only by limitations of various access routes. the dimensions of the "bayou channel" prevents structures more than 80 ft. in width to be transported. an alternate "by pass" channel could be used allowing structures up to 6000 tons to be transported, but $4 to 500,000 in dredging expenses seems to be preventing this from happening. recently the Abbeville Port Commission has proposed that the state of LA fund the dredging of the by-pass. which would be sort of nice. 4. that's preety out there. paul.
