There is a question I had asked concerning Ed Sharansky and it applies to all who are Jewish. Why do they think they want to have a nation based on their religious faith.
This misunderstands Judaism. It's not a just a religious faith, it's an ethnos, a people, with its own religious faith. With a few exceptions, you are born Jewish. If you stop believing in Judaism, you still are a Jew unless you convert to some other religion. 80% of Israelis are "secular" non observant. Are they still Jews? Sure.
Nobody is born Christian or Muslim. They can only be raised Christian or Muslim.
You talk about an attempt to wipe them out last century and a threat to do so again this century. We have a similar accusation with those of the Islamic faith
What? Who has commited genocide against any group of Muslims? Who has even talked about it? Muslims have been on the giving end of several genocides (Armenia, Darfur), the receiving end of none. Just because the Palestinians like to whine about genocide while their population doubles and triples, doesn't mean any rational person should believe them.
So why do they go and bomb Beirut and other civilian areas. The outcry against Israel is not because they are using force. It is because they are using force against the wrong people, the innocent civilians
They are not. They have given warning, and are attacking in as limited a fashion as they can. They have to disable the roads in Lebanon; otherwise Hizbullah will be immediately reinforced from Damascus, which is stuffed with arms for them.
Hizbullah militants often keep their missile stores and their families under the same roof, so it's impossible to avoid all civilian casualties. They do this because they know they can strike a blow against Israel if their children become 'martyrs', because people who don't pay close attention will accuse Israel of doing just like Hizbullah, like you are doing now.
Israel tries to avoid civilian casualties. They are using precision munitions. If they didn't care, they could destroy Hizbullah much more effectively by carpet bombing Hizbullahland.
Hizbullah aims at civilians deliberately. For them every dead Israeli child is a victory and is celebrated as such.
