Merrex Gold completes $1.17m private placement
Merrex Gold Inc., a junior mining company from Bedford, announced Monday that it has closed a $1.17-million private placement.
The placement of 1,222,833 units (consisting of one common share and one-half share purchase warrant) at 60 cents, and 622,629 flow-through shares at 70 cents, was issued to 49 investors.
Proceeds from the placement will be used to fund exploration on Merrex’s Jubilee zinc property in Cape Breton, its West Mali gold permits, its West Voisey’s Bay joint nickel venture and for general corporate purposes.
Merrex stock was trading for 95 cents a share Monday on the TSX Venture exchange, unchanged from its previous close.

Amur Boosts Resources With New Mineral Zone Discovery

Amur Minerals, a top-five nickel operation in Russia, has boosted its resources by almost 40 percent after the discovery of a new mineral zone at its deposit, the firm's CFO David Wood said Monday.
The zone, spotted in May, could increase the nickel resource base of the London-listed miner from 209,000 tons to 280,000 tons, Wood said. Amur Minerals explores nickel and copper deposits in the Far East Amur region.
