ughh -- Rex Nutting has an awful choice of words here in his article on Bernanke: "Like a biblical prophet or a Zen master, Bernanke is trying to draw our focus away from the ephemeral present to the Big Picture."" I agree with Heinz -- market just needed an excuse -- money and sentiment was there for the party already.
