I didn't say religious people couldn't participate in the political process. The problem arises when they attempt to enforce their religious beliefs on others who do not believe in their theology. There are a number of religions in my family. Those in my family who belonged to the Elim Tabernacle, have to sit at the same table as the Christian Scientists, the Jews, and the Anglicans (high and low) The Orangemen at one time had to learn to deal with the Catholics who joined, and to eat in peace. So the rules for all of them have to be the same, thus the Church should not itself be involved with Politics, because there is always a temptation to put the Churches beliefs into law, and the beliefs of others are thus abused.

As for my Moral code, I had an extensive religious education, my Morals came from my family however, seeing how the men and women of my kin dealt with each other and the world at large.
Sitting at a table with everything from Germans to FN members to Cornishmen, allowed me to see things from a rather different position. Churches house only the beliefs of a single segment of the country, so that they should always be strictly forbidden from being involved with legislation.
