CJ, Saying we need to reduce our usage is all well, fine and good. But the reality is that is only one part of the puzzle. Expecting people to take cuts in their lifestyle just isn't realistic. It might be possible to get people to accept smaller and lighter cars and give up on such large numbers of SUVs and pickups. It is very likely you can get more people to use compact fluorescent bulbs. But I ain't giving up my air conditioner when the heat index hits 120 in the summer. I am sure that those up north aren't going to give up their heaters in the winter, although I could. And unless we rebuild our cities, I don't see people giving up their cars. That is reality.

Well said. Right now, though, I think the focus is on the obvious excesses, such as Hummers that never go off-road (ever see the latest Pixar movie?). Once people are asked to sacrifice more of their lifestyle, "An Inconvenient Truth" will remain just that.
