Laser TV uses red, green and blue lasers as light sources, as opposed to phosphors excited by an electron beam. Lasers are pure light sources and permit a much wider range of colors. They are also the most efficient light source on the planet. When the price of Watt class red, green and blue lasers together comes down to a few hundred bucks, you'll hear a lot about laser TV. You might also start using lasers as light bulbs and a lot of other places that were too mundane to consider before.
