I would rather Harper says Canada opposes violence and aggression against innocent civilians in any form, in any manner, at any time, against any people. No double standards.

I don't think that the UN is taking Israel's side. They are calling for all sides in the conflict to stop and patch things up. Of course they are being ignored on both sides, although one side is a government and the other is a smaller, much more loosely defined and uncontrollable group.
