The use of force to defend against force has a lot of credibility. And force whether defensive or aggressive, is far from being on its way out.

This is written in stone. This is the foundation of Western Civilization.
This is who we are.
Of course that was written several thousand years ago and given a clean slate, we may be able to do better.
We can start all over again laying down the foundations of our civilization.
