Yeah, right, allowing yourself and your neighbors and relatives to be slaughtered is the epitome of civilization. The fact that the head of the Roman Catholic Church believes in this may not be the absolute truth. I dunno. But, show me the source in the literature of Western Civilization where the use of deadly forces is advocated, delineated, and is practised. It would be helpful if that source is widely accepted. Don't bother to point to St Augustine or Aquinas because no one using their arguments really believe in the restrictions they impose. This would be a huge waste of time.
