where the use of deadly forces is advocated, delineated, and is practised.

It seemed to be the operative concept when most Native Americans were slaughtered and a new western civilization put in its place. I believe European colonialism involved gunboats and cavalry and some such. Some major colonial wars took place not far from where I am sitting now, with the Brits and the Boers both doing their best to subjugate the Zulu kingdon by force.

Which they eventually did, for a while at least.

The annals of using force to advance "civilization" are numerous.
