In 2000 the rightwing made up a few whoppers to smear Gore. Nothing serious because Gore has no controversies in his life, but the rightwing claimed Gore said he invented the internet (never said that) and that he is some way guilty of polluting the rain forest with Occidental Petroleum (Gore has nothing to do with Oxy).

And yes, maybe there was an old mine on Gore peoperty which like all mines polluted some, but Al had nothing to do with that. Gore is a top-level environmentalist and never a hypocrite.
