Natalie Maines is the primary maverick in the group and not even a founding member. Emily Robison, formerly Emily Erwin is a founding member along with her sister Martie Erwin, now Martie Maguire. Emily has 3 children with and married country singer Charlie Robison in 1999. Charlie Robison has avoided the controversy. The Red Cross btw turned down a million dollar contribution from the Dixie Chicks in 2003.
