I see. So being afraid to tick off the allied superpower by refusing to agree to an immediate cease-fire, they decide instead to deliberately sink one of the superpower's ships, which they knew wouldn't bother it a bit.

You want to reconsider this proposed motive for logical coherence? Because imo it hasn't got any.

Human nature thinks that anybody who hurts you does so deliberately. And that somehow Israelis never f--k up. Ain't necessarily so. In either case.
