I agree J. Chris. If you let employers know that they shouldn't hire illegals and will pay a SIGNIFICANT penalty for doing so, then they will start paying attention to their own self interest and the jobs will dry up completely.

I ALSO think we should make border crossings SO difficult that illegals accept that it's not worth the effort.

Once those two things are done, then we should look at the history of residing illegals and allow those with good records an opportunity to become citizens.

But we DO need to make the border secure. Not just because of illegals, but because it's a heck of an easy way for jihadists to come in.
