Merriman downgrades LTX Corp (LTXX 5.37) to Neutral from Buy due to the current capacity digestion phase the back-end equipment companies are experiencing. The firm believes some of LTX's subcontractor customers have instituted spending freezes due to cautiousness in several end-markets, including PCs and handsets... Merriman downgrades KLA_Tencor (KLAC 39.93) to Neutral from Buy as the sentiment around the equipment group continues to plummet. The firm notes Lam Research (LRCX), one of the better performing stocks in the group in 2005 and 2006, announced that orders would most likely decline in the December quarter.
