I thought of why the democrats are silent on the Israel/Hezbollah issue.

The dems are antiwar, against everything Bush has done in Iraq. For the dems to come out with the same rhetoric against Israel, would be disastrous. The dems would lose the Jewish vote.

That is why dems are absent today; they've painted themselves into a corner after taking all the time and rope they wanted.

Even John with his NYTimes are silent on the issue...
