Maximizing shareholder value is management's sole responsibility?
I certainly wouldn't have faith in a board of directors which
put this at the top of their agenda. I think management should
focus on running their business as well as possible, and leave
the share price to market forces, because if they run their
business well, the share price will take care of itself. I once
was told any company who's CEO worries more about his/her stock
price rather than their business is definately a company one
should stay away from.

>It is managements sole responsibility to maximize shareholder value(.) They either
>have to get their act together as it appears they are in certain areas or put
>themselves in play with a company that understands shareholder value and market
>share maximization...CUC International, Quarterdeck, Symantec, come to mind.
