I continue to believe that you have grasped at every straw in the wind to convince others and perhaps yourself that the invasion of Iraq was essential. Efforts via the UN had already left Iraq a crippled mess. Our efforts in Afghanistan were just about to pay off -- we had the job there half done. We did not have the capability to finish the job in Afghanistan and deal with Iraq at the same time. Now we still don't have Afghanistan under control and our invasion of Iraq was a miserable failure from the day Bush declared victory and the looting and anarchy became the normal state of affairs. We created the ideal conditions for terrorism to flourish in Iraq -- the ideal terror recruiting environment and training ground. And we humiliated ourselves in the process. Now we can't leave, we can't get the job done and Iran is emerging as a far greater threat that Iraq ever could have been. There is just one word for the invasion of Iraq -- stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.
